CORRUPTION HAS A COST
Mainers do not need another politician who talks around our problems. I will say plainly what too many people already know in their gut: Maine has gotten more expensive because too many of the people running government have protected themselves and the system instead of fighting for you and your family. The affordability crisis did not come out of nowhere. It was built by delays, excuses, insider culture, weak accountability, and a political establishment more focused on managing the status quo than delivering results for the people it is supposed to serve..
When government runs on autopilot, rewards political loyalty over competence, bypasses competition, and spends public money without clear accountability, you pay the price, through higher taxes, worse service, delayed action, and a growing sense that nobody is minding the store. I believe every public dollar should be treated with respect, every public decision should be accountable, and every public official should remember who they work for. As Governor, I will create a government that works efficiently, governs transparently, and never loses sight of who it is there to serve - you, your family, and the people of Maine.

Every dollar collected and spent should provide value to the people of Maine. That means more discipline, more scrutiny, more transparency, and far less tolerance for the insider culture that lets bad habits continue year after year.
I support open competition for public contracts, stronger accountability in state contracting and payments, and a budget process that is transparent and accessible to the public. Mainers should be able to see how money is being spent, whether the government is meeting its obligations, and whether public programs are actually delivering results. As Governor, I will end insider dealing and crack down on wasteful spending so you know your tax dollars are working for you. Every dollar collected from Maine people should deliver real value to the people - not protect a broken political culture. That means more discipline, more scrutiny, more transparency, and far less tolerance for the insider habits that keep failing Mainers year after year.
As Governor, I will create the Office of Inspector General in the Governor’s Office to investigate any allegations of corruption so your voice is not drowned out by insiders and backroom politics.

In today’s corrupt system, too many wealthy special interests use large amounts of money – millions and millions of dollars – to influence our elections. These dark money forces pull the strings behind the scenes while the public is kept in the dark about who is really trying to buy influence.Political spending should be traceable to its original source. Right now, wealthy interests can hide behind shell corporations and vaguely named nonprofits, creating a Russian doll effect where money passes through layer after layer of organizations before anyone can identify who actually wrote the check.
As Governor, I will require full disclosure of the original source of large campaign contributions, closing the loopholes that allow anonymous spending to influence Maine elections so your voice is not drowned out by money you cannot see and interests you did not choose.

Government should not be harder to deal with than it has to be. I support modernizing technology and customer service so that Mainers can access services efficiently and securely. But modernization is not just about convenience, it is about accountability.
Under my leadership, Maine will move its most used services online, create a single secure login across agencies, and give residents and businesses the ability to track permits, filings, and applications in real time. I want a government that is open about what it costs, honest about what it delivers, and willing to measure performance publicly. That includes tracking service delivery, vacancies, pay equity, morale, and other key metrics so the public can see whether government is improving or falling short.
As Governor, I will appoint a Chief Digital Officer to help bring state government into the 21st century, eliminate inefficiencies, improve accountability, and make it easier for Mainers to get the services they need without unnecessary delays, paperwork, or bureaucratic runaround. I will reduce and where possible eliminate the cost of FOAA requests. You should not need an insider, a connection, or a workaround just to get a straight answer from your own government. I want a government that works for you, respects your time, and is accountable to the people it serves.
